- one world tree is WRONG. I found his will listed and he died

- This birth year 1596 does not seem right and I found this "range" listed elsewhere. You have to look at the age of the person and what was going on in the colony and England to see how it fits pretty good.

  The John Marshall who purchased land from John Valentine was supposedly in 1638. This means this is a different John or he was here earlier than 1650. That conflicts with the Cavalier info.

  I think the ‎‎‎‎‎‎(I)‎‎‎‎‎‎ is Capt John and the first is his son but this is just my speculation. It could be that I is his mark for his name. Not sure.
  
  Looking at what I have found, John could have been married to Scowne in England had 2 kids then "divorced" or something and then had kids with Jane. Then came to the colony and had more kids, met up with friends like Westray who was married to his ex wife. ‎‎‎‎‎("they were trying to start their own 'whatever'" as a book specs)‎‎‎‎‎
  William gets killed and John takes in his family as they did in those days. ‎‎‎‎‎(speculating)‎‎‎‎‎

  Arriving in 1619 with 100 settlers, they settled near the mouth of the creek on the south side of the James River, still known as Lawne's Creek, which, in 1642 made the dividing line between this county and Surry Co. The area was known as Lawne's Plantation. In 1625, the area was renamed to Wight Plantation, still a part of the Worrosquoyacke settlement. Many of the first settlers were of cavalier origin.

The Worrosquoyacke Indians were part of the attack on the setllement. In February 1623-24, a census records that there were 53 persons at "Worwicke-Sqeak" and "Basse's Choice", 23 having died since the April before.
